Estimate a cleaning quote
Illustrative planning estimate — real quotes vary widely by market, home condition and scope. Always quote in person.

| Base estimate | — |
| Service multiplier | — |
| Frequency multiplier | — |
| Per-visit estimate | — |
Base = $85 + $0.075/sq ft + $12/bedroom + $18/bathroom. Estimate = base × service multiplier × frequency multiplier. Range = estimate ± 15%.
How to read your result
2,000 sq ft, 3 bed, 2 bath, standard clean, monthly:
- Base: $85 + (0.075 × 2,000) + (12 × 3) + (18 × 2) = $307
- Range: $307 ± 15% = $261 – $353

Which trades is this for?
Cleaning businesses quoting homes and commercial spaces.
- Residential cleaning: recurring home quotes based on size and frequency.
- Commercial cleaning: per-visit contract pricing.
- Move-out & specialty: one-time deep cleans priced according to condition.
Assumptions & limits
- This is a planning estimate, not a quote. Actual prices vary widely by market, home condition, clutter, pets and scope — always walk through the home before committing to a price.
- Deep and move-out cleans cost more because they take longer and include extras like inside appliances and cabinets.
- Recurring discounts are common. Weekly and bi-weekly clients usually pay less per visit than one-time cleans.
- Supplies, travel surcharges and extras (laundry, dishes, inside fridge) aren’t included in the calculation.
Common questions
How much should I charge for house cleaning?
Your local market matters more than any formula. This estimator gives you a starting range based on home size and service type. Check what nearby competitors charge and adjust from there. Underpricing just to win jobs is a common beginner mistake.
Should I charge hourly or flat-rate for cleaning?
Flat-rate per visit works well for both sides: customers know the price up front, and you earn more per hour as you get faster. Keep an hourly figure in mind to make sure the flat price still pays you well.
Why do deep cleans cost so much more?
They take more time. A deep clean covers areas a standard clean skips — baseboards, blinds, inside cabinets and appliances — and typically takes 40–60% longer. Price for the time involved, not just the service name.
How do I quote a home I haven’t seen?
Don’t commit to a fixed price. Give an estimated range and explain that the final quote comes after a walkthrough. Once you’ve seen the home, confirm the price in writing.
